Sweetgrass Braid

Sweetgrass braid, approximately 21 inches. Hold the smudge bundle down at a 45 degree angle over a flame, letting it burn until smoke develops. Carefully blow out the flame and place the smoldering smudge in a fireproof container to catch any embers. Carry the smudge throughout the area, or set it in a central location. Grind out the smudge when finished.
